How to Set Up Multiple Monitors on a Laptop
Laptops are more preferred these days especially if you are always on the go, however, there might be instances that the screen feels a bit small for some tasks that you need to do. Newly released laptops support dual monitors and that already is a big help as it makes some workloads more manageable. But what if you need or want a third monitor? It can make your display even much better. I’m going to show you how I did it.
My laptop is a Dell XPS 13 and it only supports a type C connector so I had to look for a type-C USB hub that has the capability of adding more than one display. I was lucky to fine one, it’s an ANKER type C USB hub that has two HDMI ports so this will allow me to add two external monitors.
You can find this on Amazon. There are two models you can choose from depending on the features that you need.
OPTION A: Anker USB C Hub 8 in 1
It is called 8 in 1 because of the additional ports you can use like ethernet gigabit port, additional type C port, card reader, 2 USB ports, and 2 HDMI ports but if you are just after the 2 HDMI ports then I suggest getting OPTION B.
OPTION B: Anker USB C to Dual HDMI
This gives you only 2 HDMI ports but is way cheaper than the other model.
Here is how I exactly did it. You can watch my video on youtube.
